Dr. Arturo Olivera is the founder and physician-owner of GO Gastroenterology — one of Chicago’s most recognized and longest-serving digestive health practices. With over 42 years in medicine, he has dedicated his career to delivering expert, compassionate GI care to the Chicago community.
Dr. Olivera earned his M.D. from the University of Illinois College of Medicine (Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine) in 1984, completed his Internal Medicine residency at Mercyhealth, then trained in a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Rosalind Franklin University / Chicago Medical School (1987-1989).
Beyond his clinic, he serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and has held the title of Chief of the Section of Gastroenterology at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center — reflecting his standing as a leader in both patient care and academic medicine.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Olivera and his team proudly serve Chicago’s diverse communities — ensuring every patient receives clear, honest communication about their care.
